Fall is the season for cozy sweaters, colorful leaves, and, of course,

delicious pumpkin-flavored treats. One dessert that never fails to delight is a classic pumpkin pie. In this recipe, we'll guide you through the steps to create a mouthwatering pumpkin pie that will impress your family and friends!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of pumpkin puree

  • ¾ cup of granulated sugar

  • ½ teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon of ground ginger

  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cloves

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 ¼ cups of evaporated milk

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Mix well.

  3. Add the eggs to the pumpkin mixture and beat until fully incorporated.

  4. Gradually stir in the evaporated milk, ensuring a smooth and consistent texture.

  5. Pour the pumpkin filling into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  6. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 40-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

  8. Once the pie is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours.

  9. Serve the pumpkin pie at room temperature or chilled, topped with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Tips and Variations

  • For a homemade pie crust, combine 1 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, ½ cup of shortening, and 3-4 tablespoons of ice water. Mix the ingredients, roll out the dough, and use it to line a 9-inch pie plate before adding the filling.

  • Add a twist to your pumpkin pie by incorporating a streusel topping. Mix ½ cup of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of packed brown sugar, and ¼ cup of cold butter until crumbly. Sprinkle the streusel over the pie during the last 15 minutes of baking.

  • If you prefer a spicier pie, increase the amount of ground ginger and cloves to your liking.

Enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of this classic pumpkin pie, and savor the essence of fall with every bite. This recipe is perfect for holiday gatherings, potlucks, or simply as a treat for yourself. Happy baking!
